There isn't just sideline cheerleading, there is also competitive cheerleading. Competitive cheer is exactly how it sounds. Different cheer teams come together to compete against each other. There are 3 rounds to competitive cheer. The first round is only a routine/cheer. Round 2 includes tumbling. And the last round is stunting.

How to Make a Bow
You will need ribbon....
Cut your ribbon to 18 inches then fold in half
Crease the ribbon real good with your finger
This will be the center of your bow
Criss cross the ribbon like so
Then you will bring the criss cross part up to meet the top
Then you will pinch the bow ....you may have to fold it back and forth (think accordion)
I usually just take a piece of ribbon tie a knot in it and tie it in the middle, but I have been making bows for awhile, if you're new you might want to try a trash tie it will hold your bow for you
I use a pony tail holder, but you could use a barrette or alligator clip
I wrap the ends of the knotted ribbon around the holder and hot glue
Here is the end result.....don't worry if it doesn't look perfect I'm sure the special girl you made it for will think its beautiful!

These are examples of cheer uniforms, there are many types of cheer uniforms. Some uniforms have skirts with slits in them, some skirts have one cut out triangle on the side, and some skirt don't have cut outs or slits. There are many types of shells, way too many to describe. Usually under your shell there is a crop ( a tight crop shirt with long sleeves and a turtle neck.).
